Ingredients and Mechanism of Action:
Nuphedrine’s two main ingredients are Advantra-Z and hoodia gordonii. Advantra-Z is bitter orange extract and has been linked to some of the same results as ephedrine, without the health risks. Hoodia gordonii is more commonly known as just hoodia and is a purported appetite suppressant. The fact is, despite the notoriety hoodia is currently enjoying, this ingredient has never shown any results as an appetite suppressant. Furthermore, this product has been banned from being exported from its country of origin, South Africa. Since hoodia is useless and unattainable we have a hard time grasping why anyone would claim it as a part of their formula unless the intention is to hoodwink an unsuspecting public. There is also an ingredient called slimaluma a recently popularized appetite suppressant, which also blocks the formation of fat and forces the body to burn that fat. This formula as a whole is far more likely to cause stimulant related side effects than weight loss benefits.
Overall Impression of Nuphedrine
We find this product to be intriguing but not one hundred percent convincing. We would need more detailed data in regard to portions of ingredients in this blend to determine its effectiveness. We are also underwhelmed by the inclusion of hoodia in this, and any, formula as it has been so thoroughly documented as a waste of space in any and all mixtures it is a part of. At this time there is not sufficient proof to outweigh the negative aspects of Nuphedrine and for that reason we do not recommend this product.
