The issue that arises with these ingredients is, first and foremost, health. Advantra-Z has been called “ephedra’s chemical cousin.” This comparison is meant to boast of Advantra-Z’s weight loss potential but it can’t help but call to mind the health risks associated with ephedra as well. Hoodia has been linked to some liver disorders and, even if hoodia was completely benign, it is a filler ingredient used here only due to its popular name.
